Yes. Take Tylenol or extra strength Tylenol. If the fever increases, call your doctor.

How can I stop heavy bleeding?

Take a tea bag – REMOVE STAPLE – wrap a gauze around tea bag, moisten with cold water and bite on for thirty minutes, remove gently.

I’m swollen 3 days after surgery, is that normal?

Yes. Swelling usually increases for the first 2-3 days than begins to decrease over the next 2-3 days. Apply heat to outside area and warm water rinse.

Can I eat if I am having local anesthesia?

Yes.

Can I eat if I am having N2O/O2?

Yes.

Do I need a ride if I am having local anesthesia or N2O/O2?

No, you only need a ride if you are having I.V. sedation.

Do I need a follow-up appointment?

Yes, usually a week to 10 days after surgery.

Are the sutures dissolving?

Not normally, but in certain cases we do use dissolving sutures. You will be notified if this case pertains to you.

Do you communicate with my current dentist and doctor?

Yes. We take the time to communicate with your dentist or medical professional to make your specialty care a hassle-free experience. We recognize that good communication between doctors is the hallmark of fine surgical care and we strive to keep lines of communication open throughout your treatment.

Will I need to go to the hostpital for the procedure?

Rarely, it is necessary to perform certain procedures in local hospitals. When there is a complicated surgery anticipated or medical risk involved, we may choose to require hospitalization. Both Dr. Azzouni and Dr. Seider are active staff members of the Memorial Regional Hospital group. Most procedures can be performed as an outpatient. Some more complicated procedures may require an overnight stay. We attempt to make this experience as relaxing as possible for you.

I am a new patient, what information do I need to know?

When our patients call for an initial consultation visit, we make every effort to try to schedule your appointment at a time most convenient for you. We will schedule all non-emergency patients for their consultation visit prior to their surgical visit. At this pre-surgical visit, we are able to assess your needs and recommend to you the treatment options in our relaxed office suites. Click here for our contact information.

What about my insurance coverage?

Our patients should be aware that insurance is considered a method of reimbursement, and not a substitute for payment. Click here for more insurance information.
